Reflecting on A Year of Giving Back and Building Community

Dec 18, 2023

As the year ends, we extend heartfelt wishes to all our valued clients, partners, and community members. This time of year is more than a season of celebration; it is also a moment for reflection on the positive impact we can make in the lives of those around us.

In the spirit of community and compassion, we proudly look back on a year filled with charitable initiatives and community engagement. Grounded in our belief in the power of giving back, we’re excited to share some stories of the impactful partnerships we’ve cultivated and the positive changes we’ve contributed to.

Pieta provides a range of services nationally to people who are experiencing thoughts of suicide, those who engage in self-harm, and those bereaved by suicide. All of their services are provided free of charge, and no referral is needed.

Pieta House: Shining a Light on Mental Health

Our collaboration with Pieta House, dedicated to suicide prevention and supporting those affected, has been a cornerstone of our community involvement.

In May, we proudly participated in the Darkness into Light event, with TWi covering 50% of the entrance fees donated by our team.

As the holiday season approached, our annual Christmas Desk Competition became a platform for generosity. With 21 creative submissions, our team raised over €500 in total, and TWi matched every donation.

Cork Simon: Supporting Our Community for Over 50 Years

Cork Simon Community Logo

Cork Simon is part of the network of Simon Communities across Ireland that provides a range of services to people at risk of or experiencing homelessness, including homelessness prevention, tenancy sustainment, and resettlement. Street outreach, emergency accommodation, and harm reduction.

Our partnership with Cork Simon, a charity dedicated to supporting the homeless population of Cork, has been characterised by a commitment to understanding and action.

In July, TWi organised a staff information session, deepening our awareness of Cork Simon’s impact on the community. This session inspired us to take meaningful action and advocate for those facing homelessness.

We also laced up our running shoes for the Cork Evening Echo Women’s Mini Marathon in September of this year.

Our annual “Christmas Jumper and Cocoa” coffee morning saw TWi team members generously donating to the cause, and, as in our partnership with Pieta House, TWi matched all contributions.

Looking ahead to 2024, we are also eagerly preparing to reinstate our Gardening Day at the Tír Na N’óg housing facility. This initiative, which was temporarily paused due to the challenges posed by the pandemic, aims to enhance the living environment for the residents and further solidify our commitment to community well-being.

Happy holidays!

As we reflect on the past year, Technically Write IT takes pride in our commitment to community well-being and social responsibility. We share our stories with the hope of inspiring others to join us in spreading goodwill and fostering a sense of unity.

Our collaboration with Pieta House and Cork Simon exemplifies our dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Moving forward, we remain steadfast in our mission to build a stronger, more compassionate community.

May this holiday season be filled with joy, warmth, and the spirit of generosity. From all of us at Technically Write IT, we wish you a Happy Holidays and a New Year filled with hope, compassion, and meaningful connections.
